During the Meridian-Lauderdale Alumni Chapter's "Purple & Gold Scholarship Banquet", students were awarded college scholarships. In addition, the Chapter presented Dr. Alfred Rankins, ASU President, with a check in the amount of $45,000 for the Alcorn State University Foundation, which will be used to provide scholarships in various academic departments. Wilbert Jones serves as president of the Meridian-Lauderdale Alumni Chapter of Alcorn State University.
Welcome to the Meridian Lauderdale Alumni Chapter website. We want to take this opportunity to say, “THANK YOU” for supporting Alcorn State University.
If you are not a member of the Alumni Association, we would like to invite you to join us. On behalf of the Meridian/Lauderdale Alumni Chapter of Alcorn State University, we would like you to become an active member to support our local chapter and Alcorn State University. We are here serving alumni, prospective students, and friends in the Meridian and East Central Mississippi area.
Together, we can set new priorities for the coming years. Let us join hands as partners in working toward a thriving university. We must stand and speak for what is true – true to us, true to our God, true to our alma mater, and true to our fellow man.
Each of US can make a positive difference for Alcorn; but there are even greater differences that only we as a group can make. Truly, “Alcornites must pull together because together we got more pull.”
